Constructed by the revered Kuat Drive Yards for the Galactic Alliance after the New Mandalorian War, the Starhawk-class Battlecruiser was meant to fill a size gap between any given Star Destroyer and the popular Mediator-class Cruiser produced by the Mon Calamari. Though it resembled slighty previous KDY products such as the Nebulon-B Frigate and Corona-class Frigate with a hammerhead fore and skinnier spine, this battlecruiser could slug it out with the best of them.
The Starhawk shared weapons and other systems with KDY's most famous product, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer.
