The rough looking Jedi raises a bushy eyebrow as the data pad is slid under Xuxi's nose. He waits for her inevitable reaction, a smirk slowly creeping onto his face the further this little charade continued. By the time she accused him of lying, Ton gave her a hearty chuckle. He seemed to be enjoying this. It was rather odd. Xuxi would soon notice something about him though. She wasn't the only one craving what was to come. There was a similar look in his eyes... Well, his right eye anyway. His left one seemed oddly glazed over. He desired, perhaps not the violence, or the fight... But the challenge perhaps. The chance to break free of his own tethers and let loose.

With his right hand still gripped around the hilt of his Jedi Weapon, the only thing about the man that screamed Jedi, his left hand raises into a lazy surrender. Gently, he reaches into his breast pocket, moving slowly so they knew he was not withdrawing a weapon or making a move. He pulls out his own, smaller data pad. Using his thumb, he flicks through a few entries before finding what he was looking for. With a grin, he tosses the pad to Chak.

"Lying may be a bit harsh... Besides, it's not like I ever kidnapped children or burnt down the farms of hard working people~" Was this Jedi mocking her? Her? He grins widely, looking back to her. "... You know... I very nearly didn't become a Jedi... I always needed to be partnered up with people... I was... known for being a little rash. A little... aggressive?" As soon as he started talking, Xuxi would know where he was going. That look in his eye, the tone in his voice. They both knew a fight was about to break out. And both of them seemed to share a fondness for the idea. "...Thankfully, I calmed down with age... Still... I do relish a good challenge."

Ton's brow furrows as he looks to her with a near serious frown. With a grin, he utters words that she would never have expected to have come from the lips of a Jedi. "If you can remove my weapon from me, I'll give you one hundred and fifty percent of what you asked for. If you cannot, but I manage to destroy all your droids, and knock out all your guards... Then you give me the kids and come quietly." Was he... gambling?

A loud snap-hiss echoes through the hallway as a dark blue glow bursts from the shiny metal hilt in the Jedi's hand. A beam of pure light appearing from the devices' emitter, pointing down to the ground.

"...Deal?"

The flickering light of Ton's datapad shows an entry on a peculiar looking public forum. A picture of a rather lonely looking Nautolan was displayed next to a brief message that read WANTED: Female with aggressive tenancies wanted for none serious relations! Would give the Galaxy for a wild, passion filled night of romantic debauchery. Bipedal creatures only.

One hundred and fifty percent--that wasn't a number to sneer at and Xuxi was quite confident that she and hers could outmatch a single human. And if she did lose...she mentally shook her head. She'd have a hard time getting back to where she was and she'd most likely have to find another planet once she broke out of prison, but it wouldn't be the first time. Besides, after years of preying on small folk, she looked forward to the challenge worthy of her heritage.

"We've a deal, Jeedai." Xuxi agreed, a slow smile that didn't meet her eyes spreading across her face. "We'll have lots of fun, you and I."

With that, Xuxi brought up her blaster and squeezed off a shot at the man before her. Shouting an order while backing away for better ground, the rest of the Burning Sea fell into position around the Jedi.

"I certainly hope so."

The next small instance felt like a lifetime to Ton. Her words, her acceptance of his proposal brought a great sense of relief to him. A relief that he knew he shouldn't feel. No Jedi should relish the idea of a fight this much. It was unbecoming. It was unjust. And above all, it went against all his teachings, both the ones he'd received, and the ones he'd been delivering. With that thought, his focus shifts. He wasn't here for himself. He wasn't here because he was bored, because he craved to be back in the field. There was only one reason why a Jedi was stood in this doorway. And that was simply to serve and protect the innocent. To ensure that those children were returned safely to their families. His right hand grips tightly against his lit weapon. And the instance comes to a close.

The blaster bolt is sent hurtling towards him as Xuxui fires her weapon at him, retreating backwards with her men to try and gain a better position. Without thought, Ton spins his weapon and swings it across him in a vigorous arc. It was almost like he was swinging for an incoming projectile. Like he was swinging a stick at a ball. Oddly enough, that wasn't too far from the truth. A loud high pitched squeal is heard as Xuxui's shot is deflected from the raised blade, the red bolt being sent speeding back through the hallway. The rightmost B2 Battledroid had barely raised it's arm before Xuxui's own shot strikes it straight in the visual sensor, burning it's metal armour exterior, and lighting it's electrical interior ablaze. Sparks fly from the heavy droid as it buckles under it's own weight, dropping towards the floor lifelessly. Well, more lifelessly.

And there it was. The first real proof this Phedi had offered that he was, as he claimed to be, a Jedi. But Ton wasn't done yet. He had a lot of work to do.

With his hand still in front of his chest, still clutching his Jedi weapon, he raises two fingers and pushes his hand forward. The air around him seems to swirl behind him before racing to his aid. The atmosphere around him rushing forward in a tidal wave of invisible force, blasting at the enemies in his immediate path. The force was stronger than any of them would expect. The aim was simple. Ton was making room. He was clearing the entrance to the base. The crippled B2 hadn't hit the ground before it was pushed backward. Chak Gris would feel the full brunt of this too, the still fleeing Xuxui less so.

Ton pivots his shoulders, slinging his left arm forward as his right arm retracts. Without missing a beat, Ton unholsters his blaster with his left hand, and raises it towards those he was trying to push out of the corridor. His bright blue blade was almost pointing back in it's original direction, out to his right, by the time the blaster was levelled at it's targets. Ton squeezes the trigger, sending a powerful blue bolt hurting towards the other B2. An Ion blast, designed to tear electronics apart. The Jedi had moved so quickly, it was likely both B2's would be destroyed before they even hit the ground.

The first seconds of battle had passed far too quickly for the Devaronian to respond. Chak had tried to heed Xuxi's call, tried to level the blaster at the damnable Jedi with his damnable laser sword, only to see sparks fly from one of the heavily-armored battledroids.

" What ..-!"

Chak began to steady his aim with his fancy blaster pistol, but instead found it confounded by a flying droid, coming straight at him.

" .. the ..-!

The Devaronian squeezed off an ineffectual lance of bursting orange, the bolt sparking against the roof of the gang's little hovel as the B2 collided with flesh and bone. Chak felt something break: a shoulder, it seemed, the pain causing him to howl in fury and anguish. Chak hit the far wall, the droid crushing against the left side of his body and pinning him in place beneath its weight. His damaged figure tried to push it away, but he might as well have tried to hold Tatoo itself for all the good it did. Instead, shielded by the mechanical husk, Chak poured his pain into rage, using his good arm to try and place the sites of his Flashfire on Ton Phedi.

" Die, you karking slugstang!" he roared, his pistol erupting in bright bursts of light as it barked a trio of arrows in the relative direction of the Jedi.

No!

Aza-les couldn't believe that this was happening. Her vision flashed with the bright heat of blaster fire, with the brilliance of the Jedi Lightsaber, which had a heat unlike any she'd seen before from this close. A flash, and down went a droid.

They were in trouble.

Grabbing her blaster, she sprayed a series of useless bolts in the vague direction of the Jedi - useless, because her aim was way off, blowing great chunks out of the wall a good two meters from anything living. She stumbled off of the crate, crashed shoulder first into the wall behind her in doing so, righted herself again, shaking her head viciously against the affect of the salt on her. A burst of ion energy downed the other Battledroid, which was then tossed back by a wall of moving air - the Force, Aza could only guess in her rapidly growing panic. She whipped the blaster carbine up again, this time bothering to aim properly, and fired a quick burst off at the Jedi's torso, before scrambling further along the wall, towards the door to the back of the compound. She nearly barged into two more of their gang - Mardo Zern, an Aqualish and another thuggish brute like Chak, and the Rodian Estha Hin. Estha pushed her roughly aside, dropped onto a single-knee, and started unloading from her own blaster, as Mardo vaulted a low dividing wall to get himself in close with his own weapon, a short ranged Golan Arms Flechette Launcher. Aza herself found her feet, staring in shock and amazement at how the Jedi moved. Her senses still buzzed from the salt, her pulse raced from adrenaline, her poor eyesight struggled to track anything in the room as the heat of laser-fire in the air blurred her heat-sensitive vision. She waved her blaster back and forth, but didn't squeeze the trigger at all. There was too much going on, and she didn't think she'd been this scared in her entire life.

The Kids. The Jedi gets to the kids, you're out of bargaining chips. If you have the kids, maybe you can talk your way out of this!

She turned, lunged across to the kids, keeping her head down all the way, and grabbed the biggest - and, she guessed, eldest - of them roughly with one hand.

"Go-on, out. In the back. Move it."

The kids didn't respond right away. She got right up close to them, close enough that even her eyes could make out their features, the wide-eyed fear that spread across their fat, fleshy little Human faces.

"I SAID MOVE IT, YOU LITTLE SHITS!"

She shoved the eldest one forcefully at the other door out of there, and once the other kids were moving as well, she followed suit, throwing a glance back over her shoulder at the carnage the Jedi was mid-way through causing.

Karking Jedi. Shit shit shit.

She ducked out through the door, guiding the kids ahead of her deeper into the twists of the small, abandoned military outpost. They had definitely bitten off more than they could chew. And it was biting them back harder than anything ever had.

The situation was out of control—two battledroids down and out with Chak pinned underneath one thanks to the blasted Jedi’s Force, and herself thrown off balance. Getting back to her feet, Xuxi ducked behind a crate for cover, not particularly eager to be hit by the many errant blaster bolts reflecting off the Jedi’s lightsaber.

The lightsaber…

Never mind the Force, it was the lightsaber that needed to go. Without it, the man wouldn’t be able to deflect their shots and they’d have a better chance. Or at least, she hoped they would. After all, a Jedi’s lightsaber is his life, isn’t it? And it wasn’t like she could engage in direct hand-to-hand with him with her own small vibroknife. She wasn’t even 100% sure a vibroblade could stand up to a lightsaber. With her own inexperience with Jedi (grudgingly admitted to herself) and the tales surrounding them, Xuxi wasn’t taking her chances.

Popping up over the crate, Xuxi squeezed off several shots and moved along the wall and barked out an order in Huttese to her closest man, who dodged his way into the nearest storeroom. She knew this plan was a long shot, but if the stories were right, there’s a chance they could short circuit the blasted weapon. If not, well…it’d be a distraction at the very least.

Within seconds, her man dodged back out and threw a bucket of liquid at the Jedi. With the Jedi occupied, Xuxi moved around behind him and lifted her blaster up to end this nonsense once and for all.

Ton couldn't help but feel the atmosphere of the room had changed. At some point in the last three seconds, things had shifted. And he couldn't shake the feeling that he was to blame for this shift in mood. For some reason Ton was irritated by this. The others in the room, who focused their attention entirely on the Jedi, would notice that the room wasn't the only thing to change. The Jedi himself had lost his smirk, his charm, the gentleman joker attitude he'd walked in with. Instead, in his place, was man with a look of focus on his face. The rogues and scoundrels in the room could never have known who they'd invited into their base. But they were about to learn first hand. With Ton there was so such thing as errant blaster fire...

With a firm squeeze, the Jedi fires another blue bolt of Ion energy towards the pinned Chak Gris. The shot, carefully aimed and focused, is flung through the air towards the Devaronian. Though, not towards his head, or any part of him that was likely to do serious injury. In fact, the shot looks to firmly strike Chak's weapon.
Having fired only the one shot, Ton pivots again, bringing his right side forwards. His bright blue blade burning through the dimly lit hallway like a beacon. With a quick upward diagonal swing, the blade clears Chak's hastily fired shots out of the Jedi's path. The shots ping against the cold wall, leaving scorch marks.

As soon as Chak's first shots had been deflected, and before Ton's bolt of ion could land, Chak had managed to compose himself a little, and fire off another three shots. These ones with more care and precision. Ton's brow furrows slightly, as if irritated by the fact the Devaronian had managed to fire off some more shots.
Not that it would matter. As easily as he'd swung up, he reverses his swing, swinging downward in front of his body, catching two of the bolts. A swift rotation inwards caught the last bolt. However, Ton was not so forgiving with these shots, all three sent back towards Chak Gris.

At that moment, a loud shuddering blast is heard as dust echoes everywhere, some recklessly placed covering fire blasting chunks out of a nearby wall. Ton looks up to see the Arconan scurrying backwards, fleeing towards the back of the hall. The Jedi almost felt sorry for her. Well... Until she raised her weapon and fired at him. A burst of orange shots race toward him. His right hand grips his Lightsaber hilt firmly, his boot grips on the dusty concrete below, and he pushes off. With incredible speed, the Jedi leaps into the air, somersaulting forward, up and over the bursts of pure energy as they strike the wall behind him. As he lands, Ton looks up to see her push past another two thugs, both readying weapons.

The longer this went on, the more Ton feared this situation was getting away from him. He groans a little as he spins his blade over his head before swinging it downward in a wide sweeping arc, catching the Rodian's fire and sending it back to her. Ton strides forwards, moving at a stern pace, unrelenting. He was on a mission. And he intended on completing it. With each stride he grew closer to the Arconan and the Aqualish. Before the male thug tries to fire that dangerous weapon of his, Ton threw his right hand at him, still gripping his Lightsaber. Just like before, a pulse of pure force blasts through the hallway. The burst was firm and violent, those caught in it could tell the Jedi's patience was wearing thin. Mardo Zern is pushed backwards, slammed hard into the wall he'd just vaulted.
The blast would ripple past Aza-les as she grabs at the children.

"Hurt them in any way, and I will personally make sure light does not touch your flesh again, am I clear?!"

As the Arconan bursts out of the door, a groan escapes Ton's lips, his shoulders slumping. "...what a drag." He mutters under his breath. His 'outburst' was enough to drop his focus though, Xuxui's fire suddenly racing at him from through the unsettled dust. Ton quickly brings up his blade, rotating it in front of his body, pushing his right arm up over his head. Even off guard, Ton managed to deflect the shots.
The thugs could never have known they'd taken on a Jedi renown for his abilities deflecting blaster fire. It was second nature to him. For Ton, it was as easy as breathing, his weapon an extension of himself.

He focuses on the hallway to try and locate his attacker, only to see a man. A man with a bucket.
"...uh?" Before Ton could consider what was happening, a murky liquid is sent hurtling in his direction. He brings up his blade to block, only this time, it would do no good.
The dirty water sizzles against his vibrant blade as it splashes all over his front, drenching him head to waist. Ton takes a second, the man with the bucket staring at him in a mixture of confusion and panic. Finally, a frown on his face, Ton spits out some excess water, and flicks his wrist. The bucket leaps out of the man's hands and smacks him square in the face, knocking him out cold.

With that, Ton was about to relax. His shoulders drop, a sigh leaves his lips. And then. He felt something. A presence in the Force. An enemy! His body tenses as he swings around to face behind him, swinging his blade around neck level. Before his blade collides with his attacker, he feels the cold steel of a blaster press into his left side, right under his rib cage. His blade stops in it's tracks. Xuxui could feel the warmth from his weapon, taunting her, sending fear into her.
Ton could see the sweat on her reflecting in the bright unnatural blue light of his weapon.

"...We had a deal."

It would take a moment for his words to sink in. Despite their current stand off, not a single one of Xuxui's men was still standing. Well, except for Aza-les. Who Ton wasn't really counting. He wondered if Xuxui would count her. To be fair, he could argue the technicality that she was a woman, and not one of her 'men'. With a sigh, Ton spits out some more water, to the side.

Disappointment. That was the only way to register the look on the gruff Jedi's face. He already knew what she was going to do. He already knew how she would react. And to his chagrin, she had attacked predictably. Why did no one ever heed his warnings? Why did no one ever do the smart thing? As her weight shifts, Ton was already in movement. He bends his knees and prepares to counter attack.

As Xuxui leaps backwards, Ton swings his blade out to his left, continuing the arc that would have removed Xuxui's head. Although the attack might have seemed barbaric and ruthless, it wasn't until his blow landed did Xuxui realise what his true intentions were. The blade misses her neck by what left like an inch, swinging in front of her as she dodges. As she lifts up her weapon and fires, the blade changes angle, coming downward. The burning blue blade cleaves her blaster into two parts, leaving searing orange metal behind. Her bolt sizzles as it bursts from her muzzle, not enough energy behind it to fire. The sheared barrel of her gun simply drops to the floor, useless.

The frown on Ton's face was a good indicator of the mistake she'd just made. Sternly, he throws his right hand at her, the Lightsaber blade pulling back into it's hilt as he deactivates his weapon. The heavy blast of sheer pressure that followed his palm demonstrated his disappointment. The Force push was heavy and hard, enough to blast Xuxui off her feet and slam her hard into the wall only a few feet behind her. Ton was past the point of caring if he broke anything. Following the heavy slam into the wall, the weaponless Xuxui would slide downward, dropping to the floor. Ton takes a few steps closer, staring down at her.

"I really hoped you would be smarter than this. I offered you a way out. Several. But instead you did what every thug does, and went for the kill. Your friend Aza? Was it? I hope for your sake she doesn't hurt those children."

The Jedi bends down, looking to her more directly. "Your fate is now in the hands of that little tweaker. If she hurts them, I'll personally make sure your entire gang enjoy the rest of their meals through a straw. Am I clear?" With little effort, Ton kicks at a dropped comm-link lying next to one of the downed henchmen, kicking it in Xuxui's direction.

"Call her back. With the kids. Safe. And you may yet taste freedom at the end of your impending incarceration."

Well, it had been worth a shot. The hard Push into the wall knocked the ever-loving breath out of her and Xuxi wasn’t 100 percent sure nothing was cracked despite her armor taking the brunt of the damage. She could only just barely admit to herself the twinge of fear that rolled through her stomach. She heavily straightened from her position on the dirty floor of the compound and offered the Jedi a pained, forced smile.

”You can’t blame a girl for trying.”

With a grunt, Xuxi reached over and down for the comm the Jedi had kicked over and took a deep breath or two. Chaos, it hurt to breathe…

”Aza, where are you with those kids? Bring ‘em here.” At a look from the man towering over her, she added, ”Whole.”

Dropping her arm into her lap, they both waited for the Arconan’s reply. Xuxi took another breath.

”So you know, Jeedai, I was just getting ready to knock the head off whoever bled the one’s lip before you rang. If Aza was dumb enough to do something, I'd be more than happy to take care of her for you. I may be many things, but a child-killer ain’t one of them. Who do you think it was that killed him that killed my sister all those years ago?”

Before Xuxi could explore that old emotion, the comm crackled to life.
