The Tra’kad screamed for the ventral hangar of the Champion, his vox already picking up the sounds of Zashyn and her marines clearing out their landing space. A brief bout of worry seized his chest, but there was little to truly fear: She was a warrior in her own right, and, frankly, much better than he at this part of the task. In their brief and passionate relationship, she had always proven to be the better marksman. Always.
The assault shuttle suddenly jumped and twisted however, leaving everyone aboard gripping for something, anything to keep steady.
:: Backwash! Hold tight! Turbolaser fire incoming! ::
Turbolasers? This close to an Alliance vessel? Impossible, no Mandalorian ships were in range to hit the belly of th –
Then it was not the Mandalorians. It was the Alliance. Desperate to stop their assault, the Alliance was firing on their own ships.
:: Pilot! Status! :: Onur managed to get out, his teeth grit as the artificial gravity slammed him and his entire team into their seats, the Tra’kad desperately trying to regain any semblance of normal flight.
:: Glancing blow! Engine Two is down, rear stabilizers are shot! The target ship has dropped its ventral shielding around the hangar bay! ::
Has this Admiral lost his gods-damned mind!?
Another sudden jolt, this time to the other side. Onur could feel the vessel’s hull compress slightly.
:: Tra’kad Three is down! Osik, they took a bolt through the canopy! ::
:: Eyes ahead! Ram us into that hangar bay! ::
This was not how he died, oh no. Not in some Mandalorian iron beast in the horrible emptiness of space, not from some cowardly Alliance commander that was willing to kill his own men and women rather than let his vessel do something useful within the hands of the vode. The shuttle’s engines gave one last hurrah, emptying obnoxious amounts of exhaust into the stars as they propelled the craft into the Champion with all haste.
:: Zash! Have your team raise the Hangar Bay shields! Do it now! Now! ::
His order was barely out on the comm bands before Prudii’tracinya, Onur’s steed in this battle, came crashing into the Champion’s Hangar, narrowly missing the vessel that bore Zashyn Loross’s team into the belly of the beast. It plowed into a nearby E-Wing that still had not lifted off to join the fight, cracking its nose in half and slamming the fighter into a wall, which the Tra’kad used to roughly stop its motion.
The ship was still trying to kill its thrusters when Onur and his strike force came piling out of the vessel. Several Alliance Marines were still remaining from Zashyn’s ferocious attack, and now the new Supercommandos took cover behind various shipping and storage crates to begin forcing them back. The Nagai’s HUD showed him where Zashyn’s command was already storming the Hangar Control Tower, hopefully getting the shields up soon enough to give them time to run away from the turbolaser bombardment before a shot came careening inside the Star Destroyer and killed them all.
:: Give Team Bee covering fire, get them into that Tower! Rulni, take two verd, I want a clear path out of here, secure the closest door and repel anyone else that tries to stop us! Ajaz, Lurik, with me! OYA!::
With that, Onur and his two comrades charged into the fray, blaster bolts spitting back and forth between themselves and their enemy as they rushed to link up with Zashyn’s command team. Outside, the fighting raged on.
His team and Zash’s were the only two that had made it with any degree of safety. The others, were they still alive, would have to find different targets: He was not risking anyone else in his company from having to run a gauntlet of turbolasers just to reach their doorway in.
He barely stopped to fire when it was necessary, bringing his carbine to the hip to punch through the weak armor of the enemy Marines at near point-blank range. His own damaged durasteel frame was more than enough to shrug off the few glancing blows he received in return, though he could feel the metal heating up, sweat starting to soak his bodyglove.
Regardless, they needed time, and he was buying all the time they needed.
That’s it. Focus on the shiny, purple armor. Forget that we’re trapping you in here and getting ourselves onto the rest of your ship.
